If Beans Could Talk
Before your delicious cup of NESCAFÉ was brewed from freshly roasted beans, it was a basket of raw green beans from cherries plucked from a tree halfway across the world. Every day, green beans arrive at a NESCAFÉ roasting facility, and every bean has its own story to tell. NESCAFÉ wants to make sure that sustainability is at the heart of the story because if beans could talk, we would want to hear everything they had to say.
Coffee that doesn’t just taste good it wants to do good
NESCAFÉ in Europe, where we source all our coffee beans from, is 100% responsibly sourced coffee, supporting coffee farmers to improve their lands and livelihood. Responsibly sourced coffee is traceable to the group of farms where it was grown and is produced in accordance with sustainability standards that have been validated as equivalent to our Responsible Sourcing Standard.
Traceability and compliance are verified by independent organisations, such as 4C Services, the Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade, which deploy accredited local auditors to assess a range of factors, including social, environmental, economic and health and safety conditions at farm.
Taste the difference
Sustainability is important to us and we're passionate about contributing to a better world. Our Superiore whole roasted coffee beans are made using coffee from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ Farms.
The focus of the Alliance is to create a better future for people and nature by making responsible business the new normal. With each cup, it's working to solve some of the most pressing social an id environmental issues of our time and we are proud to support it with help from customers like you.

What is the Rainforest Alliance Certification
The Rainforest Alliance and Nestlé have partnered to promote sustainability in Nestlé’s cocoa supply chain and in the cocoa sector more broadly. We source all our certified cocoa from Rainforest Alliance-Certified farms, helping to create a more sustainable cocoa supply chain and tackle social and environmental issues.
This partnership works on two key interventions:
1. Certification: Many of the farmers participating in the Nestlé Cocoa Plan are also certified by the Rainforest Alliance. Rainforest Alliance Certification helps farmers produce better crops, adapt to climate change, increase their productivity, and reduce costs.
You’ve probably seen the little green frog on some of your favourite products, but what does it really mean?
The frog is the symbol of the Rainforest Alliance Certification Program. A product with the seal means the RFA is working with farmers to grow specific crops more sustainably, creating a better future for people and nature.
2. Monitoring and Evaluation: To track the progress of its Nestlé Cocoa Plan and to improve its interventions, Nestlé has partnered with the Rainforest Alliance since 2016 to monitor and evaluate the Nestlé Cocoa Plan’s outcomes. Find out more about the Rainforest Alliance here
