With the help of SA CHEFS, Nestlé Professional has introduced a Culinary Education programme that will further chef skills, build capacity, and certify a new generation of professionally trained catering companies.
The focus of the Nestlé Professional Enterprise Development Programme is for us to play a positive role in up-skilling, guiding and supporting home-grown entrepreneurs in the field of industrial, commercial and private catering. We aim to enable candidates to raise their business standards, ultimately elevating the industry and encouraging employment.
Each year 16 entrepreneurs are selected to join the year long program hosted at the Nestle head office in Johannesburg. Students attend two days per month to focus on theory covering topics like food cost and nutrition. They also spend time in the Nestle kitchen honing their cooking skills and walk away equipped to enhance their own businesses and make a social impact. 2020 marks the 5th year for the Nestle Catering Academy and we look forward to hosting many more students.
