BAR-ONE Chocolate and Almond Torte

    • BAR-ONE Spread
      100 g
    • butter
      150 g
    • castor sugar
      150 g
    • eggs- separated
      6 eggs
    • ground almonds
      375 g
    • grated dark chocolate
    • cream
      250 g
    • dark chocolate finely chopped
      400 g


    1. Cream the butter and sugar together till light and fluffy
    2. Add the BAR-ONE Spread and mix well
    3. Add the egg yolks one by one and mix thoroughly
    4. Fold in the almonds and chocolate
    5. Whip the egg whites to soft peak and fold into the above mixture
    6. Pour the mixture into a greased cake tin (23cm) and bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for 45-50 minutes or if the cake tester comes out clean
    7. Remove from the oven and turn out carefully onto a cooling rack and leave to cool
    8. Place the cream into a saucepan and bring to the boil
    9. Once the cream has boiled remove from the heat and whisk in the chocolate and BAR-ONE Spread till it is all melted and the ganache is rich and smooth
    10. Pour the ganache over the cold torte and leave to set
    11. Portion and serve with fresh whipped cream or ice cream
